Babybags · Last updated 12 October 2026

The short version: everything you log in Babybags stays on your iPhone (and your Apple Watch, if you use it). There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared.

Who we are

Babybags is made by an independent developer in New Zealand. This policy follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Contact: babybagsadmin@gmail.com.

What the app stores

What you enter: your baby's name, birthday and boy or girl; feeds, sleeps, nappies, growth measurements, notes and any photo you add; and your app settings. It's kept in the app's own storage on your iPhone. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, Apple includes it in that backup, under Apple's privacy policy.

What leaves your phone

Sync between phones (test families only)

Sync isn't offered in this version. A few test households who joined before release can sync two phones through a family key. For them, entries are sent over an encrypted connection to a small server run on Cloudflare and stored against a scrambled form of the key, so only phones with that key can fetch them through the app. "Log in your own words" text is also sent there, where an AI model on Cloudflare turns it into entries. Only the developer can see the server, and only to keep it running. Those families can ask us to delete their synced data at any time.

Your choices

Children

Babybags is for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. Information about a baby is entered by their parent or caregiver and stays on that person's device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a future version adds sync for everyone, it will be opt-in and explained in the app first.
